Finding Peace

To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring – it was peace.

Chocolate Cockapoo

Meet Beau. He is a nine-year-old chocolate Cockapoo and the pup of Mildred. They were part of the thousands who were displaced during the May floods in Nashville. On the morning of, Beau woke up Mildred to let her know something was wrong. They fortunately were able to vacate before the flood waters rose too high. To say the least, the past several months have not been easy for them. Thankfully, the kind people of  The Village Chapel stepped in and rebuilt their condo and what better way to celebrate than with new dog art for their place! Last week Beau and his mom moved back into their home and we photographed their dog session on the five month anniversary of the flood.

Beau is such a serious fella’ but irresistibly cute! Enjoy and have a great weekend everyone.

Bouviers des Flandres in Chicago

A couple of weeks ago, I was in Chicago for dog sessions. I had the pleasure of photographing Riley and Chloe at their country home outside of Chicago. They are Bouviers des Flandres and since I had never photographed this breed before, I was surprised at how tall they are! But how cute are they? So fun and scruffy and they have the most wonderful parents. Enjoy these!

Also, our last travel session for the year is coming up! I will be in NYC October 27-30 and have 2 slots left for sessions. If you live in the NYC area and would like me to photograph your dog, use the contact form on our site to inquire.

It’s beginning to look a lot like…

Oh the memories of setting up the tripod, squishing everyone together, setting the auto-timer on the camera, dashing to the other side of grandma while the 10 second timer is ticking away, and trying to convince the dogs to look straight ahead at no one behind the camera. Ha! I have years of funny moments like this to look back on, but sadly not really a single great family photo came out of one of these impromptu shoots.

What do you say about planning ahead this year and having a great photo of you and your beloved dogs to share throughout this holiday season?

Adrian Hitt Dogography offers custom, in-house designed holiday cards in a fantastic variety of finishes, sizes, shapes, and formats. It’s so fun to send out a holiday card that truly represents you and your pups. I have to say that Adrian really knows how to capture that quirky, real, individual character and personality in both her photography and her designs. It is the perfect time (and weather!) to schedule a session. Also, if you have had a session in the past, you can still order holiday cards as well! The deadline to order holiday cards is December 10 and sessions must be booked by December 3 in order to insure holiday delivery. Hope to hear from you soon!
