Benny, my human stuck in a dog’s body

A good snapshot stops a moment from running away.

EUDORA WELTY

I’m feeling rather smitten by Benny lately. Maybe it’s because he turns 5 this week? Or because he’s the sweetest thing that’s ever lived? Either way, I’m so glad to have this photo. This is Benny to.a.tee. As we say around here, Benny likes his comfort. This is what he did this weekend, lazied around on the sofa and took full advantage of the pillows. And I had to stop myself from smothering him for his cuteness. 😉  Hope yours was just as relaxing!

our doberman lays on the couch just like this….on a pillow…and will cover herself up with a blanket! Benny is a sweetie!

We love sharing fun dog finds here and when these videos were sent to me, I just had to pass onto you! This video is so incredibly sweet. The dog mom has been serving in Afghanistan for the past year and was reunited with her Golden Retriever upon her return. Click here to see how the pup responds.

This Dogs Dining video just makes me laugh! How funny is it? I love the varying expressions of the dogs. What a great idea!

FOUND: Australian Shepherd Female West Nashville

ETA: Tillie is now back home! 4/10/11

This morning we found this sweet dog wandering west Nashville on White Bridge Road. She is a purebred Australian Shepherd. No tags, microchipped but no contact info with chipping. Please call 615.715.4655 if you know who is missing her. Please pass along!

Foster dog

Rarely did he take his beautiful, kind eyes off me… and wherever I went there he would be too, and wherever I sat he would… sit beside me, close, protecting me, his head on my knee.

ELIZABETH VON ARNIM

I don’t believe I ever announced it here, but Rudy, our foster dog from December, did get adopted right before Christmas and with his brother as well! I found this photo and just had to share. This quote adequately describes Rudy. He was either at my feet or in my lap the entire time he was with us. I think he viewed me as his mother duck:) I occasionally get updates from his new mom and he is doing beautifully in Murfreesboro, TN with a total of 3 dog siblings. We still share stories about him around our home and are grateful to Agape Animal Rescue for saving his life.

Enjoy the weekend!

Thankful

Thorns may hurt you, men desert you, sunlight turn to fog;
but you’re never friendless ever, if you have a dog.

DOUGLAS MALLOCK

My grandma passed away this weekend. She and my grandpa were married nearly 64 years. I can’t imagine the depth of heartache, loneliness and despair after losing someone who is not only your life partner, but intricately a part of you. The days ahead will not be easy for my grandpa. I was thankful to see so much of my family at the funeral and spend time sharing memories.

I returned home late last night and just felt utterly grateful to be able to hug my partner and still have him to experience life alongside of. So blessed. I love this photo. It’s probably one of my favorites of Brian and Benny. I love that it’s in the snow (I actually have a fondness of winter) and that they’re both so happy. I love my boys!

Adrian, I’m so sorry for your loss (and yes, I know this is an older post, but whatever). I am glad that, at the least, that loss makes us care more about the relationships that we are blessed to have. And you’ve got two great guys who care so much for you. Love you, friend!
