Play Ball, Adopt a Pet

Looking for a new furry friend? Chances are, one’s looking for you too!

You won’t have to search very far to find your new family member. The Nashville Humane Society’s adoption trailer, Teddy’s Wagon, is coming to you!  Teddy’s Wagon will be traveling around town this month and your future pup might just be on board – especially if you love baseball.

May 14, Teddy’s Wagon is hosting a Bark in the Park party right before the Vanderbilt Comodores and the Florida Gators go head to head on Hawkins Field. Bark in the Park starts at 10AM with the game starting at 2PM. You can get your tickets from the Vanderbilt athletic office or go here for more information if you are interested.

But maybe you were planning to cheer on the Nashville Sounds on May 15 instead? The Nashville Humane Association will be there too! Teddy and his team are participating in Greer’s Stadium’s Hot Dog Adoption Day. Gates open at 1PM. Be sure to head out early to meet all the dogs and see if it’s love at first bark.

Nashville Lifestyles Cover Dog – Commercial Pet Photographer

The latest Nashville Lifestyles magazine is on the stands and you definitely want to pick up the May issue! It is their annual People and their Pets issue and features cover dog winner, Buddy, a Jack Russell Terrier. I photographed him at the end of March and what a fun time we had! He is a spunky little guy (as most Jack Russell’s are:)) with an interesting story. He spent the first two years of his life in a shelter until his photo caught the eyes of his new parents. From that moment on, it’s been happily ever after for Buddy’s family. I know they’re crazy about him and proud that he is now a local celebrity! 😉 Here are my tearsheets from the magazine:

Adrian Hitt is a nationally recognized, award-winning dog photographer who creates modern, playful works of art. Her interest in dog photography is founded in her desire to celebrate and encourage the deep bond that develops between human and animal, parent and dog. In her free time, she photographs dogs awaiting adoption at local rescues and shelters. Her proudest moment? Spending everyday with the inspiration behind her career – Benny a charming -and perfect- black mouth cur shepherd rescue. Adrian lives in Nashville, Tennessee and travels nationwide to photograph America’s beloved pets.

Dogs make the best of friends

Just a scruffy little dog … And yet you are the best, the kindest friend anyone could have.

Play On (For a Good Cause), Nashville!

A year ago last May, Nashville suffered a heartbreaking flood that tore through the community, damaging homes, businesses, families and lives. But in true Nashville spirit, we weren’t defeated – we recovered and reached out to one another. Since then, we’ve been able to restore much of our city and rebuild what was destroyed last spring.

To celebrate this spirit and our incredible community, the Grand Ole Opry House, which was also affected by the flood, is holding a special concert Tuesday, May 3 at the Opry House appropriately titled: Play On, Nashville! Artists on the ticket bill include Brad Paisley, Charlie Daniels Band, Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley, and more.

But it gets even better! The Opry will donate $10 from every ticket to the Nashville Humane Society when the code NHA is used at the time of purchase. You can use the code (NHA) when calling 871-OPRY or at the Opry House Box Office. You can also buy your ticket online (the code’s even already entered for you). The donations will be put toward continuous relief efforts to help animals still struggling to recover from the flood.

We are so proud to be a part of this truly exceptional, giving community. We hope you’ll come and give to a good cause while enjoying a great event!
