Companionship

I have found that when you are deeply troubled, there are things you get from the silent devoted companionship of a dog that you can get from no other source.

DORIS DAY

Adrian Hitt is a nationally recognized, award-winning dog photographer who creates modern, playful works of art. Her interest in dog photography is founded in her desire to celebrate and encourage the deep bond that develops between human and animal, parent and dog. In her free time, she photographs dogs awaiting adoption at local rescues and shelters. Her proudest moment? Spending everyday with the inspiration behind her career – Benny a charming -and perfect- black mouth cur shepherd rescue. Adrian lives in Nashville, Tennessee and travels nationwide to photograph America’s beloved pets.

Parks and Dogs and Music – Oh, My!

Last year, Centennial Park introduced us to to Musician’s Corner, a community event boasting what Music City does best. Every Saturday afternoon from May 7 – July 2, the park showcases some of Nashville’s most entertaining musical talent, free of charge. The community is invited to come out to the park and enjoy some great live music in the summer sun. Dogs, of course, are welcomed and their people are encouraged to bring them along for the fun! Food vendors will also be on site, Ben and Jerry’s and The Grilled Cheeserie have already paid a visit to this fun event.

This Saturday, May 21, Musician’s Corner at Centennial Park starts at 3 and lasts until 6. Musicians include: The Young International, The Great Barrier Reefs, Go Go Saggio, Darnell Levine, Jake Ousley and Rae Hering.

Caitlin is the studio manager for Adrian Hitt Photography. She keeps things running smoothly behind the scenes and frequents the blog with tips on what’s going on in the dog world. A recent graduate of Elon University, Caitlin holds degrees in both digital art and professional writing and rhetoric. In her spare time, she pens fiction novels, eats too many Twizzlers and sneaks down to the local animal shelter to snuggle with the all the playful dogs and puppies looking for a forever home.

Celebrate your dog’s life

Meet Solo. He is a Greyhound/Dalmatian mix and is 13 years old. Tammy got him as a puppy while she was in Vet school. Such a special dog! Solo was recently diagnosed with lung and liver cancer. That definitely makes sessions difficult, but filled with so much more meaning. I’m so glad they wanted to capture him before he realizes he’s sick. He is truly a precious pup. She and Brian are getting married this week and I wanted to share a favorite of the three of them. Don’t you just love this spring field? More of Solo soon!

Boston Terriers are Funny

Do you remember this chocolate Boston Terrier puppy? So cute, right? And so sweet as you can see below.

Well, this is actually how our session began. Petey has a giant Boston Terrier stuffed dog. And he’s definitely not afraid of it! Have a great Friday.

Husky Mixes – Nashville Pet Photographer

Meet this growing dog family! How cute are they with their backyard hammock, two pups and one baby on the way? Jean-Marc and Brienne are the proud parents of Bailey and Balto; both Husky mixes. Bailey is a Lab Husky mix, while Balto is a Schnauzer Husky dog – both so unique looking! It was a great morning running around and playing with these two. And I’m sure they’ll make a great big brother and sister duo.:)
