Play Fetch

If you know much about Labs, you know that they are not only sweet, loving dogs, but most love to play fetch! Here is Boston playing with her favorite frisbee. Enjoy!

Occasionally, we like to switch up things and share animations. If you liked this, be sure to check out this Boston Terrier puppy!

Spending everyday with the inspiration behind her career – Benny a charming -and perfect- black mouth cur shepherd rescue. Old English Sheepdogs

Meet Baxter and Bailey, two Old English Sheepdogs. Their session was on a gorgeous Fall day just as the leaves were starting to turn. They are both so full of personality and loved being outdoors. Enjoy this sneak peek!

Jesse the Jack Russell

(Scroll down to the bottom of this page and pause the music player, so you can hear the video.)

Okay, so Brian and I joke with Benny that he needs to pull more of his share around the house. (Yes, it’s totally normal to hold conversations with your pets. At least in my book.:)) Obviously, Benny’s love and unyielding loyalty are more than enough! But, when Caitlin shared this video with me, I couldn’t help but think of this joke … of course after I picked my jaw off my desk. Jesse the Jack Russell is not only adorable, but the most talented dog I’ve ever seen. Seriously, you won’t believe the things he can do. Enjoy!

Which trick of his is your favorite or most unbelievable?

Haha! I know Brian wishes Benny could fold the laundry for him 😉 Or even put dishes in the dishwasher.

A Dog Memorial

Being a dog photographer has brought me immense joy, laughter and peace. I feel so fortunate to not only do something I love, but to meet numerous dogs who all touch me in different ways. And of course, knowing you all, their caregivers. Getting phone calls to let me know that a dog has passed, is the hardest part and one I wish I could do without. I know how much my Benny means to me, and so my heart breaks to think what you all are going through during such a loss. Such a vast emptiness. Words can’t really say how much I am honored to get to know your pups while they’re here. So thank you.

Grief is like the ocean; it comes on waves ebbing and flowing. Sometimes the water is calm,

and sometimes it is overwhelming. All we can do is learn to swim.

VICKI HARRISON

Today, we remember a wonderful Australian Shepherd, Shelby. (More of her dog photos.) Her short eight years were filled with lots of love, playtime and eating cicadas. 😉 (My session with her was during Nashville’s 2011 cicada invasion.) (And, don’t let her smile fool you, because she was also mischievous! During our shoot, she kept sneaking in my bag and stealing toys. I’ve never had another dog be so adamant. A funny girl.) She was diagnosed with kidney cancer earlier this year, and after surgery, proper nutrition and chemo, she could no longer fight. When I photographed her the second time, it was only weeks after having a kidney removed and she was full of life and energy. Such a trooper. Shelby is sorely missed by her family and those that knew her. Rest in peace, sweet girl.

Oh that makes me so sad to hear… My prayers go out to that family. I know how devastating it is to lose a furbaby.

adrian - October 12, 2011 - 4:56 pm

Thank you, Kate. I know that means so much to them! Losing a pet is one of life’s dimmest moments.

My thoughts are with this sweet family as they mourn the passing of their family member. Our Dallas passed away 18 months ago, just a few months after our photo session with Adrian. I can say that those photos have been such a blessing, and having them in a prominent place in our home has been a daily reminder of how wonderful it was to have Dallas in our lives.
