Fall Events!
Cooler temperatures and colorful leaves means that fall is near. With this new season comes a plethora of new events and activities. Flipping through this month’s issue of Nashville Parent, we noticed a great deal of exciting events for children. Nashville Children’s Theatre has a strong line-up for the fall/winter season including The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (Sept. 22-Oct. 11), Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (Oct. 27-Jan.3), and The Diary of Anne Frank (Jan. 19-Feb. 7). If you haven’t been to this theatre, it is a neat building originally built in 1960 and renovated in 2007, and it sits on a hill just south of downtown, allowing for a great view of the city. Go get your tickets now!
Today is the opening date of Wicked at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC). Through September 20, Nashvilleans can enjoy this musical that explores the “untold story of the witches of Oz.” Winner of 20 major awards, including a Grammy and three Tony Awards, Wicked is not a performance to miss! And, I was psyched to see that Curious George is coming to TPAC for a limited time on October 22. Tickets for both performances are available here.
This Friday, Cheekwood is opening it’s annual outdoor Scarecrows exhibit, featuring sixty-five varieties of scarecrows along the garden path, one of which is shown above. See if you can find them all!
And finally, tomorrow, Thursday September 3 from 4 to 7 pm, one of our favorite clients, Elizabeth Broyhill, is hosting a “Cocktails & Nibbles” event at Monkee’s, her shoe boutique located in the Hill Center in Green Hills. Be sure to check it out this great shoe sale!
