Maxwell’s Birthday Project

We meet a lot of dogs who found their families when they were puppies and have grown up in one house. But there are also many dogs who may find themselves looking for their forever home in their twilight years. Such is the case with sweet Maxwell- his mom took him home when he was 11! Now, in celebration of his 18th birthday, his mom Sarah (pictured with 2 of Maxwell’s siblings) is sending a care package to two senior dog rescues- one in San Francisco, the other in St. Louis. The packages will be a thank you for the work these rescue organizations do and to help them care for their dogs. Sarah is collecting all sorts of toys, treats, vitamins, and other items suitable for dogs of a certain age while they wait for their families to come and take them to their retirement homes!

Local friends who’d like to donate can drop off their donations (or shop for donations!) at Animalia Health and Wellness in Franklin and let them know it’s for Sarah when you drop it off.  Out of town donations are also welcome and can be mailed to: Maxwell’s Birthday Project, c/o Animalia, 1973 New Highway 96 West, Franklin, TN 37064. To find a complete wishlist or for more information, you can go to the Maxwell Birthday Project Facebook Page. You know what they say about “old” dogs… they like new treats too!

If you would like to donate, but cannot get the package mailed or delivered to Animalia in Franklin, TN, you can also drop items to me at Hillsboro Animal Hospital in Nashville, TN no later than Friday, December 14th, and I will take them to Sarah at Animalia on my weekly visit with Miss Petunia.
