This session was unlike any other I’ve done. Before this, the most dogs I had photographed was five. Last week, that record was broken … to say the least! Dave and Kym own a fantastic company, Earthdog. (Benny has two of their collars and of all his collars, they’re our favorite.) They are also owned by their 15 dogs (and no, that’s not a typo). They are all rescues and many, if not all, lives were save because of the big hearts of Dave and Kym. I have wanted to photograph their pack for a while and I’m so glad it finally worked out. I don’t believe I’ve ever laughed more at a session than this one. We were definitely outnumbered – 5 dogs per human – which left room for a lot of chaos fun. 😉
Here is just a handful of the dogs. Enjoy! (And next time you’re at a dog store, be sure to look for Earthdog. Really great stuff.)
Within minutes of posting this, I found out that this sweet guy is being put to rest today. He just celebrated his 15th birthday on November 1. So thankful he was up for joining us. His strength that day inspired us all.
Murray, you are greatly missed and I know the pack won’t be the same without you.
It was neat for me to see how their life works. Sure, things are a bit crazy, but they’re surrounded by immense love every day. And, really, what’s better than that?
