During my travels to New York this past October, I was lucky enough to spend some time with animal trainer and rescuer, Andrea Arden, at Animal Haven in Manhattan. Animal Haven is a nonprofit shelter for abandoned dogs and cats in the Tri-State area of New York. They do a great work and would love your support if you’re in the area. Andrea is an accomplished author of 5 books about dog training and behavior; an animal behavior columnist and contributing writer on numerous publications. She also appears regularly on several Animal Planet shows; and frequents The Today Show, 20/20, PBS programs and others with her animal training advice. Impressive enough?! She is an expert in her field and has a huge heart which she pours into the wonderful dogs and cats waiting to be adopted at Animal Haven Shelter. Andrea works alongside Animal Haven as a board member and also as a trainer to help improve the likelihood of adoption and reduce the time in which the many dogs and cats in their temporary care will be adopted.
Here she is with a couple of pups from Animal Haven awaiting their homes.
